29th Midi - Banana Skins: The risks facing the microfinance industry

From left to right : Michel Maquil, Gilles Franck, Sam Mendelson and Daniel Rozas

For the 29th Midi de l'inclusion financière, we were glad to welcome two microfinance experts, Sam Mendelson and Daniel Rozas, who are two of the authors of the survey entitled “Microfinance Banana Skins 2014: Facing Reality”. They presented us the key-ideas in understanding the main risks the inclusive-finance industry faces.

“Banana skins” are the main cause of uncertainty in any type of organisation. Companies increasingly focus on identifying and managing potential issues, as providing for crisis-management helps any sector with effective resolution.

The event took place on 3rd December 2014. It was organised with the support of the Luxembourg Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, in collaboration with the Banque de Luxembourg, InFiNe, Rim Initiative and CSFI.

The survey was written thanks to the contribution of more than 300 praticians and observers of microfinance in 70 countries. Download "Microfinance Banana Skins 2014" here:
