31st Midi de la microfinance et de l'inclusion financière

31st Midi | Climate change and microfinance

The issue of climate change has found great interest among our audience. With over 130 participants attending this conference, we were honoured to have François Bausch, Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, among our guests.

The debate between Runa Khan (Founder and Executive Director - Friendship) and Carla Palomares (Project Manager of Innovation in inclusive finance - ADA) was moderated by Jérôme Broutin (CFO - GDF Suez Rassembleurs d'Energies). Our speakers shared their views and experience with green-microfinance projects. The topic of these initiatives’ sustainability was also discussed.

We were pleased to welcome Ben Fayot, Special Ambassador for the European Year of Development, who came specially to share his conclusions on this meeting with us.

The conference was held on April 23rd 2015, with the support of the Luxembourg Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs and InFiNe.lu network, in collaboration with Banque de Luxembourg.

This Midi de la Microfinance was organised in parallel with the publication of Number 1 of Passerelles magazine produced by ADA and entitled “Microfinance and climate change.”
