Certificate in Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance 2021

From January 18 to 28, 2021, at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg.

Launched in January 2017, the Certificate in Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance is a joint project of the ADA Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance) at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg, with ADA and the European Investment Bank Institute.

Aimed at regulators, intermediaries and other inclusive financial bodies, the two-week programme aims to raise awareness of the subject of law and regulation in the inclusive financial sector, enabling an exchange with regulators and financial intermediaries and facilitating further academic and non-academic cooperation. The curriculum combines traditional financial law with inclusive finance and development policy subjects such as FinTech for inclusive finance, Sustainable Inclusive Finance, RegTech and Financial Inclusion, Microfinance, Risk Management and COVID-19.

5 good reasons to get your Certificate in Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance:

  1. The Inclusive Finance sector is growing rapidly, and needs qualified professionals to advise on legal and regulatory aspects
  2. Learn from a diverse and international group of experienced practitioners and professors
  3. See how European financial institutions, such as the European Investment Bank work from the inside out
  4. Join an active alumni network and take an active role in the worldwide inclusive finance community
  5. Possibility to attend the programme virtually

Due to the ongoing Covid19 situation worldwide, it was decided to cancel the physical participation in Luxembourg. The program will then be carried out online hosting 51 participants from 20 different countries.

These past couple of weeks have been quite interesting and very insightful.

It is amazing what can be achieved in such a short period of time and I think it is safe to say that in these 2 weeks, we have become experts in micro finance, risk management, cyber security, social performance management, policy making, drafting legal documentation, regulatory and compliance management, performance monitoring and measurement, to mention but a few.

Beyond this however, is the opportunity for global impact that this program presents, as each of us from around the world, from Nigeria to Pakistan, to Burundi to Ghana to Jordan to Ethiopia, to Burkina Faso to Armenia to Rwanda, to Belgium to Albania, to India to Uganda to Cameroon to Benin, will go back to our respective countries and dispense the value you have created in each of us. This for me is where the real return on investment lies.
