Microvision, become a business expert in planning and financial projections

5 to 8 November 2019 in Saint-Domingue (Dominican Republic). From 8:30 to 17:15.

Microvision training is highly interactive and practical. It applies adult learning techniques. By working on case studies based on real cases, participants will get to know the tool by making different hypotheses and scenarios.

The main objective of the training is to build a plan for MFIs.

Microvision training has several characteristics in order to generate:

  • Interactivity: participants will work in groups, trying to find a consensus on their main strategic directions and assumptions. The results of each group will be shared and discussed orally.
  • Putting learning into practice: Practical exercises and scenario and projection analysis are an integral part of the course. A final case study covering all the concepts of the training will be studied at the end of the training.
  • Participation: after a significant amount of time dedicated to the practical part on computers, participants are invited to interpret and comment on the stages through which they have passed, while putting into perspective the operational and institutional contexts of the organizations.
  • Exchanges: consultants and experts will be encouraged to share their experiences and expectations to improve good practices in the business plan development process with the use of Microvision.

The 4-day training includes:

  • Capacity building of participants in the business plan development process, guiding MFIs in defining strategic directions and different assumptions
  • Improving the skills and capacities of consultants and experts in the following areas: interpretation of ratios, analysis of financial and social trends, development of diversified and long-term financial strategies and identification of risks to be mitigated
  • Analyze and challenge the results by developing different scenarios of MFI performance and simulating the impact of key decisions on the microfinance institution in general
  • Explanation of the use of the Microvision tool in the process of developing financial and social projections and their communication to stakeholders
  • Promotion and exchange of knowledge and experience among participants.
