New support program for MSEs for ADA by 2018

Cacao Pérou

ADA will launch in the first quarter of 2018 a new program called "Support to Micro and Small Enterprises", which aims to build the capacity of MSEs to become eligible for MFI services when it is not yet the case, so that they can better benefit from the financial services to which they have access and develop their activities.

This program will build on the concept of "Microfinance Plus", which seeks to promote partnerships between microfinance institutions and their stakeholders to facilitate MSEs' access to non-financial services and promote their successful integration into the chains. valuable.

In preparation for its launch, ADA is currently conducting two feasibility studies in Peru: one with the Prisma MFI to support the strengthening of the cocoa, coffee and Sacha Inchi value chain - a nut species used in vegetable oil manufacturing - in the San Martín area; the other with the Arariwa Microfinanzas MFI, aimed at strengthening the value chain of guinea pigs and milk in the Cusco region.

These two projects will be launched in early 2018, as soon as the feasibility studies are finalized.

At the same time, ADA continues to identify additional projects that will be included in the MSE Support Program, with the goal of launching 4 initiatives in 2018.
