Will the organisers cover my accommodation or flight costs?

No. The organisers do not cover any costs. It is the responsibility of each participant to book their plane ticket, hotel and visa application at their own expense.


Are there any reduced cost hotels?

Yes. The organisers of the SAM have negotiated rooms in partner hotels close to the conference to be able to offer the best rates for the participants. Book quickly! Limited availability. 


When will I be able to register for training?

Once you have registered to the SAM and the payment has been made, you will receive an e-mail in August 2019 to register for the training courses you are interested in. Limited availability. Please find the list of training courses here.


When will I receive my invitation letter to apply for a visa?

You will receive your invitation letter to the SAM within 15 days of payment of your registration. If you have not received anything after this deadline, please contact us at .


What are the advantages of participating for 5 days in the SAM 2019?

Do I have access to all the events organized during the SAM?

The SAM entrance ticket gives you access to the two-day conference with plenary and parallel sessions on the theme: Pathways toward impact: African Inclusive Finance for the Sustainable Development Goals

The SAM ticket also guarantees access to the Research Meets Africa conference and the Innovators' Village.

The Investors' Fair, which brings together investors and African MFIs, is open to investors that have booked a table, as well as to MFIs registered with SAM and who have completed their form.

Apart from that, you can also participate in several free trainings and workshops organised by our partners. Please register as soon as possible as places are limited!

Some events bring together a very specific public and therefore are only accessible by invitation.


As an investor who wants to participate in the SAM, what rate should I choose?​

We offer several packages with regards to the purchase of tickets, which can be seen on our site.

- If you want to attend the SAM – the two days of conference – as well as the side events included in the price and open to all participants, please select 5 Day Entry Pass.

- If you want to attend the SAM – the two days of the conference – as well as the side events included in the price and open to all our participants, but you also would like to have a stand at the Investors' Fair, organised on Thursday, October 24th, to meet personally the African MFIs with whom you could create a partnership and in which you could potentially invest, please choose the Investors' Fair rate. This rate gives you access to a stand for one day at the Investor Fair + access to all SAM 2019 events.

How do I get my tickets after making the reservation? 

When you buy tickets, you will have the option of paying by credit card or by bank transfer. Credit card payments can be processed quickly, and as soon as we receive the payment you will be sent an email with your tickets. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, you will need to wait until we receive the payment or until you can send us a proof of payment, then the tickets will also be sent to your email inbox. Once you receive your tickets, you should begin to make visa arrangements. 


How do I get my visa for Burkina Faso?

An entry visa is required for all non-residents of Burkina Faso, with the exception of WAEMU member states (Benin, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo). Find all the practical information in the "Visas" section.


What is the weather like in Ouagadougou in October?

In October, it will be autumn in Ouagadougou. During this period, the city enjoys a very good amount of sunshine of about 9 hours a day, with an estimated number of rainy days of only 3 for this month.
The average temperatures range from 24°C to 36°C, but depending on the year, they can drop to 18°C and rise to 42°C. 
It is therefore possible to be bothered by the heat in Ouagadougou in October.


What will be the jet lag in Ouagadougou in October?

In October, the jet lag will be - 2H compared to Luxembourg. Thus, when it will be 11am in Luxembourg, it will be 9am in Ouagadougou.
