Highlights of SAM 2021

The SAM week in Kigali followed the same schedule as the previous edition in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso: a full day of varied training sessions by financial inclusion experts on Monday, followed by the two-day SAM conference on Tuesday and Wednesday, the increasingly popular Investor Fair along with the Innovators’ Village on Thursday, and a last day of training sessions.

Luxembourg’s Development Cooperation renews its support of the inclusive finance sector through ADA

On 15 December 2021, Franz Fayot, Minister of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, signed an agreement by which the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MFEA) grants a new mandate to Appui au Développement Autonome (ADA), an NGO promoting the inclusive development of vulnerable populations.

Improving the quality of life of low-income populations: focus on Honduras and Salvador

Three microfinance institutions in Honduras and El Salvador were supported under the ADA-REDCAMIF programme (2018-2021), either to develop inclusive financial products and services or to use digital technologies to improve their operations. This month, focus on Fundación Hermandad de Honduras, PILARH and FUSAI.

Signs of economic recovery remain mixed

ADA, Inpulse and the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation joined forces in 2020 to monitor and analyse the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on their partner microfinance institutions around the world. This monitoring was carried out periodically throughout 2020 to gain a better insight into how the crisis has developed internationally. This work has been extended into 2021, on a quarterly basis. The conclusions presented in this article and written by the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation follow the second quarter of 2021.
