HOW CAN I GET MY VISA TO ENTER KENYA?

Most visitors to Kenya require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before arrival. Kenya discontinued visa issuance in January 2024 and replaced it with the eTA system for all nationalities except citizens of East African Community (EAC) member states.

Who needs an eTA?

• All foreign nationals (except EAC citizens) must apply for an eTA online before traveling to Kenya.
• Citizens of EAC countries (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda) do not need an eTA and may enter Kenya with a valid travel document.

How to apply for your eTA:

1. Apply online at the official Kenya eTA portal: www.etakenya.go.ke
2. Submit your application at least 7 days before your travel date.
3. Required documents typically include:
   • A valid passport (with at least 6 months validity)
   • A recent passport-size photo
   • Travel itinerary or proof of accommodation
   • Return or onward ticket

eTA Fees and Validity:

• The standard eTA fee is USD 34 (as of June 2025).
• The eTA is valid for a single entry and permitsallows a stay of up to 90 days.

Important:

• No visas are issued on arrival at Kenyan airports or border posts.
• Only use the official www.etakenya.go.ke website for your application.

HOW WILL I GET TO THE KICC FROM MY HOTEL?

Shuttles will be provided for transportation between partner hotels and the conference centre.

Several tour options are available before and after SAM for participants who would like to extend their stay in Nairobi. These packages include short trips around Nairobi such as the National Park, the Giraffe Centre and local museums as well as longer excursions to destinations such as the Maasai Mara Park. Please note that all visits are at the participants’ own expense.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

If you cancel your personal participation at SAM 2025, no refund will be made.

In case of a definite cancellation of SAM 2025 due to force majeure, ADA will refund the full amount paid.
