Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund (LMDF)

The LMDF is a fund allowing private and institutional investors to access opportunities with high social impact and stable financial returns with low volatility. LMDF invests in debt instruments to refinance emerging microfinance institutions in frontier markets of Africa, Latin America and Asia.

LMDF is driven by a strong social vision to focus its activities where responsible finance is needed most: among the poor and most excluded. Its investment approach consists of identifying promising intermediaries granting micro-loans and other financial products to low-income households. Often these intermediaries have little access to international or local financing.
