Participant testimonials

Benjamin Nii Offei Dodoo from Ghana and Eunice Tavares from Cape Verde were among the participants in the 7th edition of the Certificate in Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance at the University of Luxembourg, organised in January 2023 in collaboration with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and ADA.

"As soon as I heard about the certificate, it quickly piqued my interest, as the expertise developed within the programme in financial inclusion law and regulation is undeniable. There aren't many training courses organised in this field, and the role of the regulator in the financial inclusion sector is often not very well understood. Several aspects of the programme can be directly applied to the concerns I have in my work, in particular accounting for social performance, green finance and digital transformation within an organisation; in my country, it's essential to revise strategies and practices in order to adapt them to the needs, mainly of partners, and to speed up the digitisation process."
—  Eunice Tavares, Microfinance Officer, Bank of Cape Verde (central bank)

"I decided to opt for an in-person programme that covers various aspects relevant to today's financial sector. I wanted to come to Luxembourg because it's the financial centre of Europe and I wanted to learn from some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the sector. As I work in a retail bank, I already had an understanding of every player in the financial ecosystem, which I was able to deepen while obtaining the certificate. I'm now in a better position to steer financial inclusion programmes by providing relevant data to the bank's management team. I believe this will enable us to design sustainable financial products and services tailored to our customers' needs."
